The 1980s

Collage of 1980's photos goes here.

1980 throught 1982

Commissioned in 1958 The Richard S. Edwards, and her crew, had little time to test their metal before being put into service in WesPac and Ultimately Vietnam.

Within these pages are snapshots of time. Captured in these snapshots are just some of the many officers and crewmen, who are part of the history of the DD950. They are seen at work and at play, at peace, and at war.

Memories, live here. There is happiness and sadness in these images. But most of all there is pride. The pride that comes from serving as a part of a well honed unit. The pride that comes when one knows in thier heart that they, regardless of thier personal feelings, served thier country, and are deserving of it's glory and freedoms.

Whether you have reached these pages as a past crewmember, are looking for memories of your service, or you are here because we have sparked your curiosity - We Welcome you to come along and share in our journey through almost a quarter of a century of history as seen through the eyes, and cameras, of those who have preserved them.
